First Sergeant Bachman was born in Denton, Texas on 29 August 1979.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps February 1999 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA.  Upon graduation, he reported to Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, CA, for Marine Combat Training.  Upon completion, First Sergeant Bachman reported to Marine Corps Personnel Administration School, Camp Johnson, Camp Lejeune, NC.

In August of 1999, First Sergeant Bachman received orders to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in Twenty-nine Palms, CA.  Upon completion of his tour in February of 2001, First Sergeant Bachman was transferred to Combat Service Support Group-1, in Twenty-nine Palms, CA where he served as a personnel clerk.   

Following his assignment with Combat Service Support Group-1, First Sergeant Bachman reported to the Installation Personnel Admin Center, Headquarters Battalion, Twenty-nine Palms, CA where he served as a personnel clerk.  In March of 2003, First Sergeant Bachman was attached to 3rd Battalion, 23rd Marines in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Upon his return from OIF I in August 2003, First Sergeant Bachman was transferred to MACS-23, 4th Marine Air Wing, in Aurora CO where he served as a personnel clerk.  In February 2005, First Sergeant Bachman was re-assigned to Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division as the Administration Chief. 

 

In January 2006, First Sergeant Bachman returned to Iraq with 1st Marine Expeditionary Force in Fallujah Iraq in support of OIF II. First Sergeant Bachman left Baghdad in October 2006 and was transferred to Quebec Battery, 5th Battalion, 14th Marines, 4th Marine Division where he served as the Administration Chief.

 

First Sergeant Bachman attended Drill Instructor School in July of 2007.  Upon graduation, First Sergeant Bachman was assigned to 3rd Recruit Training Battalion Company L where he served four cycles as a Drill Instructor, three cycles as a Senior Drill Instructor, and two cycles as a Chief Drill Instructor.

 

       In August 2010, First Sergeant Bachman was transferred to Company H, Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion in San Antonio, Texas where he served as the Administration Chief and Company Gunnery Sergeant. 

 

       In February 2014, First Sergeant Bachman was transferred to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego CA where he served nine training cycles within 1st Recruit Training Battalion and as the Special Training Company First Sergeant. 

 

       In September 2017, First Sergeant Bachman assumed his duties at Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific Coronado, CA as the Command First Sergeant. His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal with 2 gold stars in lieu of 3rd award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 3 gold stars in lieu of 4th award, and Combat Action Ribbon.

 

    First Sergeant Bachman is married to Sarah M. Bachman of Rapid City, South Dakota.  They have two daughters named Haley and Taylor.
